On Sunday (25th March) the streets of Honiton became an athletic track for a few hours, as hundreds of runners of all ages and abilities took part in the “Honiton sport relief mile”
There was a choice of three distances, one, three or six miles. All starting in the High street at the congregational church and heading down the high street then off on various loops around the town. The Race Was started By Matt Young from Radio X.
No one wanted rain but not even the early burst of summer put runners off from running in costumes. There where Badger costumes, Bat-man and a Dragon costume making their way around the course. Even the Honiton Mayor did his circuit in his full Regalia. One Competitor even went all the way round on a Pogo Stick!
Thanks to the effort of all the Runners and event organisers Hundreds of pounds has been raised for charity.
