This is the old sluice gate for the Sawmill at Stags Head, near South Molton. The River Bray flows through this little woodland until it reaches a small weir. At this point the old (now silted up) channel can clearly be seen. This channel led to the old sluice gate, to power the mill. The woodland itself is managed with the support of the Forestry Authority, and is open to the public
